Let’s be clear about something from the get go. I’m not a big fan of the daily quotes of inspiration 9 out of 10 people will post to Facebook and Instagram. Call it being an old curmudgeon, or just being turned off about the way some people look to inspire their own lives, but for some reason I’m just not that guy. Now having said that, Jim Carrey (yes, that Jim Carrey) recently gave the commencement address to Maharishi University of Management’s class of 2014 in which he revealed how his late father inspired him to follow his dreams. I am asking the internet to take a few lines from his speech and then filter, font and design the crap out of it, so I can be a huge hypocrite and post it all over the place!!! Continue reading
Maybe it’s because I’ve lost my father too. Maybe it’s because I’m a big time “grass is always greener” type of thinker and I am always left asking “what if”? Maybe it’s because I’m a dreamer always reaching for something bigger. Or maybe, it’s because I’m just a Jim Carrey fan in general. Whatever the reasons, Mr. Carrey’s following words really hit home as true and actual genuine inspiration:
“You can fail at what you don’t want. So, you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”
Whatever you’re doing out there, I hope you love it. Or else, what’s the point?
